Hello, I’m Cat Barlow Dysert.
If you had asked me as a child what I wanted to be when I grew up, the answer was always immediate and unwavering: "I want to be an artist!"
As I got older, I realized just how vast that world really was. During high school, I explored every medium I could get my hands on, but it was digital art that finally felt like home. It was the perfect marriage of creativity and precision. I knew I wanted to pursue graphic design at a top-tier institution, but life had other plans first. Instead of heading straight to a studio, I spent several years in the food service industry.
That chapter of my life was my first real masterclass in design—even if I didn't know it yet. It taught me the "boots-on-the-ground" reality of maintaining brand standards, the discipline of a relentless work ethic, and the responsibility of leadership.
In 2023, the stars finally aligned, and I began my journey at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). I’ve treated my time here with the same intensity I brought to the workforce, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and receiving honors and scholarships for academic excellence. My transition into the design world hasn't just been about learning software; it’s been about applying years of real-world perspective to visual problem-solving.
While I am a fresh face in the world of freelancing, my portfolio is a reflection of a designer who is ready to work. I’m looking to collaborate with brands that aren’t afraid to stand out—partners who value design that is both meaningful and intentional. I’ve spent my life learning how to work hard;
now, I want to work hard to help tell your brand’s story.
